Express checkout lets customers tap a button on the product page or cart, sign in with Vipps or MobilePay, and land in Shopify checkout with name, address and contact details pre-filled. Hurtigkassen uses the Vipps MobilePay Login API and Cart Permalink for a fast purchase flow.
The official Vipps/MobilePay payment plugin adds Vipps or MobilePay as a payment method in Shopify Checkout and handles the actual payment. It does not support express checkout from the product page. Hurtigkassen is a separate solution that adds the express checkout button on product pages and the cart, fetches customer data via the Login API and auto-fills checkout. Hurtigkassen does not process payments. For the full experience you need both: Hurtigkassen for express checkout and the Vipps/MobilePay payment plugin to accept payment in checkout.
