Official plugin vs Hurtigkassen
To accept payments with Vipps or MobilePay you need the official payment plugin in Shopify Checkout. Hurtigkassen simplifies the path to purchase from the product page but does not process payments. For the full express checkout experience you need both.
Official payment plugin
The official Vipps/MobilePay Shopify app is the payment plugin that actually accepts payment in checkout. Without it, customers cannot pay with Vipps or MobilePay in Shopify Checkout, even if they arrive there via Hurtigkassen.

Hurtigkassen
Hurtigkassen does not process payments. It adds the express checkout button on product pages and the cart, fetches customer data via the Login API and sends the customer to Shopify Checkout with details pre-filled. The actual payment still happens with the official payment plugin in checkout.

Hurtigkassen and the official payment plugin solve different parts of the journey. Hurtigkassen removes friction before checkout. The payment plugin lets the customer actually pay in checkout. Install both for the complete express checkout experience.
